Waterford Libraries are delighted to present a series of online events celebrating Positive Ageing week 2020.

Positive Ageing Week 2020 runs from 28th September – 2nd October and all events will run on Waterford Libraries Facebook page and will then be available here on www.waterfordlibraries.ie/positive-ageing-week-2020-online-events.

 

Positive Ageing Week 2020 in Waterford Libraries :

 

Monday 28 September – Thursday 1 October – 4:00pm

Promoting Positivity through Poetry, a poem a day read by Library Staff.

 

Tuesday 29 September – 11:00am

Launch of Dungarvan Library as the Age Friendly Library for Waterford Libraries by Mayor of Waterford City and County Council, Cllr. Damien Geoghegan and Age Friendly Champion, Anne Dykes.

 

Wednesday 30 September – 10:00am

Chair Yoga by The Mystic Holistic Claire O’Sullivan.

 

Thursday 1 October – 2:00pm

Older champions of History with Dr. Maxine Keoghan.

 

Friday 2 October – 2:00pm

A trip down memory lane with historian Andrew Doherty.

 

The theme this year is celebrating the older people in our lives and the contributions they make to our families and communities.

Positive Ageing Week (PAW) is an Age Action Ireland initiative. The focus is on community based events, organised by groups and individuals throughout Ireland, and national events organised by Age Action and its partners; Age Friendly Ireland, Pobal, Healthy Ireland,Rialtas na hÉireann (Government of Ireland), County and City Management Association, Waterford Older Peoples Council, and Waterford Libraries
