Positive Ageing Week 2019 runs from Monday 30th September to Sunday 6th October , incorporating the International Day of Older Persons which falls annually on October 1st.
The theme for 2019 is ‘Ageing in Place’. This is ‘the ability to live in one’s own home and community safely, independently, and comfortably, regardless of age, income, or ability level’. Ageing in Place is not just for ‘older’ people, it’s for all people who want to ensure their quality of life and live it with dignity.
As part of Positive Ageing Week, Waterford Libraries and the Healthy Ireland at Your Library initiative are delighted to host a series of FREE talks organised by Waterford Older People’s Council.
