Voices from the Past – Children’s Writing Competition

writing competitionAs part of this year’s Heritage Week, Brown’s Road Library is hosting a children’s writing competition. The competition is for primary school children aged between 8 and 12 years old.

Participants are asked to write a diary entry depicting a day in life of a person who lived in Ireland during any historical time period from ancient times right through to the early 20th century. Word count can be up to 500 words. The competition will run during Heritage Week, 20 – 24 August.

Local author Karen Power will judge the entries and the winner will be announced the following week.
