Join us at Kilmacthomas Library on Friday 27 September from 10am – 12pm to try your hand at nature printing and to create a beautiful botanical plaster cast.
In this 2 hour workshop you will explore:
• The process involved in plaster casing – from rolling out the clay, designing and arranging your foliage and flowers through to casting in a mould.
• Eco/Nature printing – the process of printing with leaves and other found natural materials using oil based ink and a brayer.
All materials will be provided, including flowers and foliage, feathers and grasses for you to choose from, however feel free to bring along any particular textured leaves/grasses/seedheads/wildflowers etc from your garden or hedgerow that you want to experiment with (choose those with lots of textures, and not too brittle or fragile).
You will also need:
An apron or an old shirt to protect your clothes
A rolling pin
Tweezers or toothpicks
A large round metal spoon (dessert spoon or soup spoon)
Please note this workshop is for adults only – no previous experience is necessary.
Please contact 051 294270 to book your place.
