Transparent Language Online offers a comprehensive language-learning solution for library members. The service features a scientifically proven methodology, a wide variety of high-quality learning materials, and seamless integration of real-life language used by native speakers, all packaged together in an easy-to-use interface.

Key features of the service include:

To access this service Library Members need to visit Transparent Language Online, and register  with their library card number and email address and then choose a password.

Universal ClassLearn something new with our range of over 500 online courses.

Universal Class is free for all library members and can be accessed anywhere with an internet connection.

Members can enroll in up to five courses at a time and have up to six months to finish each course. Each course has a real instructor who you may communicate with using email.

You have access to your course 24/7 via the Internet.

These are non-credit courses and are provided for your personal enrichment.

Irish Newspaper Archive
Irish Newspaper Archives contains electronic versions of Irish newspapers from the 1700s to current day. With the Irish Newspaper Archives you can search, retrieve and view newspapers from 1700s to the present (except for the last 10 days (dailies) or most recent issue (weeklies). Local users will find The Munster Express here.

You can access this service from Library Branches using Library PCs only.

This collection contains all articles published by the Irish Times from 1859 onwards. Invaluable for social research and gaining a wider historical perspective on local events.

Online Business ResearchVision-Net can be used to carry out online business research. The service provides free online access to documents filed in the Irish Companies Registration Office. Vision-Net can be used to carry out market research such as Company, Business Name, Judgment, Director
and Industry searches.

As Vision-Net is a free service offered by Waterford Libraries please note there is a limit on the number of searches that can be conducted each month.
