Join us at Ardkeen Library on Tuesday 25th February at 6:30pm, for an evening with Brian Kelly, passionate Waterford hurling fan and author of a new book on the legendary 1959 All-Ireland team.
Brian will share the journey behind his research and bring to life stories from Waterford’s last All-Ireland victory. Told through the voices of the players – both from the Waterford panel and their rivals – the book captures the triumphs and adventures of that unforgettable year. From facing the Rest of Ireland team to playing in Wembley Stadium and touring New York, this talk promises a fascinating dive into the highs of hurling history.
But it’s more than just sport – Brian’s book also paints a vivid picture of life in 1959 Ireland, blending thrilling match accounts with rich social history. Whether you’re a hurling fan or a history buff, this event is not to be missed!
