Chef, restauranteur, cookery school owner, teacher, and TV presenter, Paul Flynn, will be speaking at Dungarvan Library on Saturday, 9th December, at 4:00pm about his life, his Irish Times columns and his new book Butter Boy.
A Waterford County favourite, Chef Paul Flynn is renowned for cooking modern Irish dishes with deep earthy flavours. Paul and his Irish menus have been regulars on Irish and international television with numerous successful shows, including “Lords and Ladles” and “Paul Flynn’s Food Truck Favourites.”
Paul and his wife Maire opened The Tannery Restaurant in his home town of Dungarvan in 1997. Last year they won the Hall of Fame award at the Food & Wine Restaurant of the Year Awards. In 2005, they opened the Tannery Townhouse and in 2008, The Tannery Cookery School became the third part of the operation.
Paul was a cookery writer for the Irish Times from 2000 to 2004 and from 2019 to 2022. He was awarded Food and Wine’s cookbook of the year An Irish Adventure with Food in 2005. Second Helpings contains a selection of Paul’s favorite seasonal food recipes. His third book, released in 2012, Surf and Turf was co-written with Martin Shanahan.
Paul lives in Dungarvan, Co Waterford with his wife and two daughters.
