Waterford Libraries are delighted to welcome award winning author, Edel Coffey, to Central Library on Saturday 28th February at 3:00pm, for the first event of the Writers at Waterford Libraries programme of 2026.
Award winning novelist and journalist, Edel Coffey, will be in conversation discussing her work, including her just published novel, In Glass Houses, in Central Library on Saturday 28th February at 3:00pm to celebrate Ireland Reads Day.
Edel Coffey is an award-winning Irish novelist and journalist. She has worked as an editor with the Sunday Tribune, Irish Independent, and The Gloss magazine, and as a reporter and presenter with RTE. She is a regular contributor to The Irish Times.
Her debut novel Breaking Point won the An Post Irish Book Award for Crime Fiction Book Of The Year and was a number one bestseller in Ireland. Her second novel, In Her Place, was a number one bestseller and was nominated for an Irish book award. In Glass Houses is her third novel.

Ireland Reads is a national campaign to get the whole country reading during the month of February in the lead up to a national day of reading on Saturday 28th February.
The campaign aims to celebrate reading and all the benefits it can have for wellbeing and enjoyment. It is asking everyone to ‘Get lost in a good book’ during February and especially on February 28th, Ireland Reads Day.
