Anna Burns, Booker Prize winner and internationally acclaimed Irish author and will be in conversation with Mary Conway, City and County Librarian, at Dungarvan Library on May 28th at 7.00 pm for the fourth Writers at Waterford Libraries event of 2026.
Anna Burns was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She is the author of three novels, No Bones, Little Constructions, and Milkman, and of the novella, Mostly Hero.
No Bones won the Winifred Holtby Memorial Prize and was short-listed for the Women’s Prize for Fiction. Milkman has, to date, won the Man Booker Prize, the Orwell Prize for Political Fiction, the Dublin Literary Award, the Christopher Ewart-Biggs Memorial Prize, and the Lee Hochul Literary Prize for Peace. It was also shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction and the Rathbones Folio Prize.
City and County Librarian Mary Conway is looking forward to the evening stating ‘I am delighted to welcome Anna Burns to Waterford and to Dungarvan Library and look forward to discussing her wonderful writing and exploring her writing life with her.’
