It’s a rare coincidence when multi-million selling Irish stars, Cecelia Ahern and John Boyne, both have new books out at the same time.
As part of this year’s Waterford Writers Weekend programme, Waterford Central Library is delighted to host Cecelia Ahern and John Boyne in conversation with with Rick O’Shea about their books Roar and Ladder to the Stars on Sunday 28 October at 4:00pm.

Cecelia Ahern
Cecelia Ahern is one of the biggest selling authors to emerge in the past fifteen years. Her novels have been translated into thirty-five languages and have sold more than twenty-five million copies in over fifty countries. Two of her books have been adapted as films and she has created several TV series. She and her books have won numerous awards, including the Irish Book Award for Popular Fiction for The Year I Met You in 2014. PS I Love You was awarded two Platinum Awards at the 2018 Specsavers Bestsellers Awards, for UK and Ireland.
John Boyne
John Boyne is the author of eleven novels for adults, five for younger readers and a collection of short stories. His 2006 novel The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas sold 9 million copies worldwide and has been adapted for cinema, theatre, ballet and opera. John has won three Irish Book Awards and many other international literary awards and his novels are published in over 50 languages. His most recent novel, A Ladder to the Sky, was published in August 2018.
Waterford Writers Weekend takes place from 26 – 28 October 2018 and is part of Imagine Arts Festival which runs from 18 – 28 October 2018.
