This interview is part of a series of pre-recorded Interviews by four Europe Direct Centres in Ireland, Blanchardstown, Clones, and Waterford. The series focuses on Covid 19 Vaccination from a National, Scientific and European perspective. It is entitled Europe Direct: Questions & Answers on Covid-19 Vaccination.
In this interview Stefan De Keersmaecker, European Commission Spokesperson for Health, Food Safety and Transport, answers questions on Vaccination from a European standpoint. Topics included are: The Common European Response to the pandemic; Logistical challenges to distributing the vaccine to the member states; Speed with which the vaccines were developed while ensuring their safety and effectiveness; Criteria used when determining which vaccines to purchase; Exploring other Vaccines for future use; Bringing the pandemic under control.
