We’ve chosen ‘We Begin at the End’ by Chris Whitaker as a our book for March, a mystery thriller set in rural California.
‘We Begin at the End’ is a story of outcasts – 13 year old Duchess, her unhappy, destructive mother, Star, and Walk, the chief of police in a recession-hit California town, still damaged from the crimes of Vincent King 30 years ago, and the testimony of Walk who sent Vincent to jail.
Drama begins as Vincent is released, arson and murder haunt the town and twists and deceptions keep you guessing till the heartbreaking conclusion.
