As part of National Fostering Awareness Month, join us at Ardkeen library on Saturday June 7th from 10:30am-12:30pm, hosted by Tusla Fostering—Ireland’s national fostering agency and experts in foster care.

This information stand is an opportunity for anyone who may be interested in learning more about fostering and how they can make a meaningful difference in a child’s life. Whether you’re actively considering fostering, simply curious or know someone who is interested this stand will provide valuable information, inspiration, and a chance to ask us questions.

Information includes:

Introduction to Fostering: Learn what fostering involves and the life-changing impact it can have for children and carers alike.

Types of Foster Care: Explore the different fostering options, including short-term, long-term, emergency, and respite care—each designed to meet different needs and lifestyles.

Dispelling the Myths: Think fostering isn’t for you? Think again. We’ll challenge common myths and explain why carers from all walks of life are needed.

How to Get Started: Get clear, practical guidance on the application process, the training involved, and the ongoing support provided by Tusla Fostering.

Real-Life Perspective: Hear from an experienced foster carer who will share their personal story, including the challenges, rewards, and transformative moments of their journey.
