This is an Ireland Reads Event. Ireland Reads is a new national campaign to encourage as many people as possible to get reading. The campaign will run throughout February, leading up to ‘Ireland Reads Day’ on February 25th 2021.
Ireland Reads is about promoting the power of reading for enjoyment and wellbeing, combatting lockdown by encouraging everyone, young and old, to get back into the habit of reading and regularly setting aside time to sit and read a book, a poem, a comic, a newspaper, whatever works for them!

Author Biographies
Liz Nugent is a writer of award-winning psychological suspense novels Unraveling Oliver (2014), Lying in Wait (2016), Skin Deep (2018) and Little Cruelties (2020). All four books topped the Irish bestsellers list and Liz has won multiple literary awards. Her books have also been optioned for screen adaptations.
Liz’s books have been translated into 16 languages and she has also written extensively for radio and television in drama and animation.
In Oct 2017, Liz won the Irish Woman of the Year Award for Literature.
Dymphna Nugent is a regional print Journalist, Columnist and Literary Critic living near the seaside in Tramore, Co. Waterford. She is a full time Journalist with Waterford News & Star. Holding a particular interest in the changing landscape of Irish writing over the past decade, Dymphna reviews books for the Irish Examiner, writing.ie and Waterford News & Star. Dymphna also runs both physical and online classes for students to encourage their understanding of, and engagement with the secondary school English syllabus, with an emphasis on decoding poetry and literary works.
