26 people attended an empowering talk ‘Making yourself a priority’ in Central Library on the 31st of March. This talk was funded by Healthy Ireland and run in partnership with Waterford Libraries.
Community Pharmacist Dr. Sabine Eggers and Eileen English Counsellor and Psychotherapist provided practical guidance, handouts, and a Q&A on the importance of putting yourself first by practising self-care with no guilt!
Attendees responded very positively to the workshop, with many expressing interest in attending similar events at the library. Some shared how the session helped them reflect on their learned beliefs and behaviours, assessing whether these approaches truly support them during life’s challenges.
One participant shared that libraries provide a wonderful setting for events, offering a chance to disconnect from screens and enjoy a welcoming, social environment. We’re thrilled that our community found this workshop so beneficial. Big thanks to our Healthy Ireland coordinator for making it all possible!
