NEW CIVIL WAR HISTORY BOOK TO LAUNCH IN DUNGARVAN LIBRARY
The public is invited to Dungarvan Library at 7 p.m. on Thursday, 7th November, for the launch of “Bloodshed in the Comeraghs by David Prendergast”.
This new publication delves into the controversial circumstances surrounding the death of Thomas Keating, who was killed by the National Army towards the end of the Irish Civil War. Hunted from the Knockmealdowns across the familiar terrain of the Comeraghs, Keating was ultimately shot in the townland of Coolnasmear during a futile attempt to leave the war behind and return to the safety of his beloved home in the foothills of Kilrossanty’s mountains.
The book is part of the Waterford History Series, edited by Willie Whelan for Waterford County Museum . It is part of the museum’s contribution to the #DecadeofCentenaries
The event is hosted by Waterford County Museum, with Síle Murphy as guest speaker.
This is a free event and all are welcome.
