Save the date: Europe Direct Waterford, Regional Soapbox Competition 2025
Venue: City Hall, The Mall, Waterford
Date: Thursday, 9th October 2025
Time: 10:00 AM
Entrants will have the golden opportunity to showcase their public speaking skills and compete for exciting prizes in two categories:
• 16 & Under
• 17 & Over
Winners from each category will compete in the National Final in Dublin. (Date and prizes to be confirmed.)
Entry forms will be available from early September online at Europe Direct Waterford and Waterford Libraries website and social media. Physical copies will be available in all library branches across Waterford from early September.
This year’s thought-provoking topic is:
“Likes, Lies, and Legal Limits: Is It Time the EU Banned Social Media for Under-16s?”
