Seen and Celebrated – Waterford’s Photography Competition
Waterford Older People’s Council in collaboration with Waterford Libraries and Healthy Waterford are this week launching a photography competition to celebrate the contribution of older people in Waterford City and County. “Seen and Celebrated” is part of the Government of Ireland’s National Keep Well Campaign, supporting people to mind their physical and mental health over the coming months.
Over the last year, older people have been asked to lock themselves away – out of sight – for their own safety. What we want to do now is celebrate the many ways that older people contribute to our society throughout the City and County.
The rules are simple, just send in a photograph (s) that show older people in a positive and realistic way. The photograph must show at least one person aged over 50 who must live or work in Waterford and they can be in any of the following five themes:
There are One4All prize vouchers in each theme worth up to €250 for an overall winner.
Entries from both professional and amateur photographers are welcomed and entries will feature in a display which will tour the County and be published in a Calendar for 2022.
The closing date is Friday 19th March 2021. Entries can be made online at the link below.
