Celebrate Science Week at Tramore Library, with a talk by Gabriel Gallagher, SETU on Isaac Newton.
Isaac Newton is arguably the greatest scientist of all time. He was also a difficult man; at times much more interested in alchemy, religion and revenge than in mathematics or physics. This talk aims to provide an understanding of his major breakthroughs in physics (laws of motion, gravity and optics) while also giving an appreciation of the complex man behind these achievements. This is an engaging talk involving demonstrations and video clips – no prior knowledge of science is assumed.
