Dungarvan Library welcomes Jim Hyde to the library for the Dungarvan launch of his new book: “The Super 7 Towns & Villages of West Waterford“. Cllr Damien Geoghegan will introduce the book at Dungarvan Library on Saturday December 14th at 2pm.
A picture guide to the glittering necklace of 7 great places worn by Ireland’s most attractive county, Waterford. The Super 7 explores – and opens up – Lismore, Tallow, Cappoquin, Aglish, Villierstown, Ballyduff Upper and Mount Melleray.
The street by street approach gives the highlights, the superstars and endless unexpected wonders: gorgeous corners, historic sites, deep rivers, cosy main streets, high mountains, churches old & new, wild woods, mad history, quirky finds, places to cycle or drive to, a great stop for a cuppa, and much much more.
The book contains nearly 200 places, over 400 photos, mentions 50+ local websites for info, has brief descriptions and history, and is up to date with how things look now.
Jim didn’t do the work on his own, he very much relied on the kindness of locals wherever he went, answering his questions and saying why things are the way they are. Over 100 people across the 7 places and their nearby areas supported him every step of the way. The book also includes fantastic photos by others, include Cllr Damien Geoghegan and Dungarvan photographer, Eddie Dee with design work from Caitriona Ormonde of Inka Design, Tallow.
