Library staff organised 10 incredible events for all ages, across several Waterford Libraries branches during Well Festival of Arts and Wellbeing 2026 16-21 February. This festival is presented by Réalta (Waterford Healing Arts), Waterford City & County Libraries and Garter Lane Arts Centre, and is funded by the Arts Council, the HSE and Waterford City & County Council.
Over 150 attendees experienced the joy of participating in arts and wellbeing events in our libraries during the festival. In addition, 7,968 people had the opportunity throughout February, to view the New Shoots photography exhibition in Central Library. Developed in partnership with HSE Occupational Therapy, Waterford Mental Health Service, the Arts Office, Waterford City & County Council and Mental Health Ireland, and led by visual artist Rosaleen Heavin, the exhibition explored themes of personal growth, wellbeing, and positive change through photography.
We are once again delighted to have partnered in this very worthwhile festival, celebrating creativity, connection, and community wellbeing across Waterford.
