‘When Paintings Come to Life’ is an Ekphrastic writing session with
writer and poet Lani O’Hanlon.
Imagine, sense, reflect, play – and explore your personal response to a work of art and the artist who made it. In this introductory creative writing workshop we will explore the tradition of Ekphrastic writing using vivid descriptions and sensual language to evoke the visual appearance of a piece of art so that the reader can feel like they are seeing and experiencing the work of art themselves.
Like a painting coming to life! Or Mary Poppins jumping into the chalk drawing!
The session is from 2.45pm to 4.15pm, on Thursday 25th April, in The Old Market House, Arts Centre, Dungarvan.
If you would like to attend please email morgan@waterfordcouncil.ie on or before 12 noon on Monday 22nd April 2024. Applicants will be informed by 23/4/2024 as to if they have secured a place or not. If the amount of requests exceed the amount of places available, we will make a draw from the requests received.
