Tramore Library is delighted to host Memoir Writing Workshop on Thursday 16th June 2022 from 11:00am – 12:30pm as part of National Carers Week which takes place from 13th – 19th June.
In this memoir writing workshop for family carers, you will do gentle writing activities drawing on your own lived experience, family stories and memories of key events and conversations. Derbhile will share storytelling techniques that will help you record the stories of the people and places that are important to you and to structure the story of a typical day in your life. You will also learn how to tap into the senses to unlock your memories. This will be a relaxing and fun workshop.
Derbhile Graham is a writer and creative writing tutor living in Tramore, Co. Waterford. She is touring her one woman show, ‘People Wipe Me,’ in the summer, and she’s also written a novel, The Pink Cage. She gives creative writing workshops to people of all ages, but has a particular interest in healthcare and disability. She has given workshops for Waterford Intellectual Disability Association, the Bealtaine Festival and St Joseph’s Special School, amongst others.
